  3. Hello Ruth,

You asked, "Why is it more important to collaborate online than in a face to face setting?. Also compare and contrast your findings. Collaborate with fellow learners after your initial post, commenting on at least two of their post."

It is important to collaborate in the online environment because feelings of isolation may exist. Honestly, if there were not any collaborating online, then the class would be dubbed a correspondance course. In the face to face setting, a student is forced to collaborate with their colleagues and Instructor, they are in the same room in person. As mentioned above, feelings of isolation would exist if there were no collaboration. The Instructor would not know if the student is grasping any kind of concepts pertaining to the class without collaboration. Also, collaboration is important to the learner, as they learn new concepts and ideas from others which is very important to any learning environment.

  5. Hello Ruth,

Like stated above, I posted my answers to your questtions about why collaborating is so important in the online learning environment. I presented reasons why they work and why they do not work.

I liked the answers that Darla posted on your blog as well. They present fresh and unique reasons for collaborating online. Lastly, I feel that collobarating online is very important. The yes' far outweigh the no's in this instance.
